We spent five nights here in February 2023. The house is in a beautiful setting, with a modern interior that still has plenty of history. We especially liked having dinner on the balcony in the evenings. There’s a restaurant right outside, and most nights the noise had died down by around 10:30. Our towels were also changed during the stay. The host was amazing and very accommodating.

Marcus was so kind, even waiting for us at the airport after our delayed flight landed past midnight. The room had nearly everything we needed for a few days, and I loved the unusual way up to the rooftop terrace through a roof window. It’s a beautiful, thoughtfully arranged space in the heart of Funchal Old Town. Guests at nearby restaurants can get loud, though they usually clear out around midnight. I’d happily stay here again if I return.

There are plenty of restaurants along the street if the one right outside the door isn’t your style. The house itself is extraordinary, with a lovely spot to relax on the roof. Everything is beautiful and cleverly fitted into a small space. You’ll love it here.
