I had a nice stay, and the ocean view from my room on the 5th floor was great. Service was good, though there were a few odd extras, like paying 5eu to have a wine bottle opened and soft drinks not being included with the all-inclusive dinner. The pools were nice; the indoor one could use a hotter jacuzzi. The restaurants and spa are there, but I didn't try them. Everything else felt pleasant and well run. If you find a good deal, I'd definitely recommend it.

The pool area was gorgeous, and we really enjoyed the dining choices. Definitely try Dine Around, the sushi was great. It's a fab place for a family holiday, and every staff member was lovely. Mickey deserves a special mention for always making our kids feel special. The rooms are a little dated, but that's our only small complaint.

Breakfast was even nicer thanks to Suzie and Carla, the two ladies in the kitchen. They're real egg specialists🍳 and made delicious egg dishes every morning with a smile. Their singing added such a lovely atmosphere, and they were so friendly and positive with the hotel guests🩷

This was our second stay, and we still love the large rooms and ocean views. We slept perfectly, and while the rooms are old, they were well cleaned. The food was okay, with a wide selection of meat, vegetables and fruit. Eating on the terrace with the sea view was a treat. It isn't perfect, but the value for money is very good.

Breakfast had a huge choice, far too much to list, and we were welcomed with a bottle of wine. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and spacious, with a good-sized balcony, though it could use a little attention. Both the blue and red hop-on, hop-off routes stop an easy walk away. There are plenty of restaurants nearby if you don't want to eat at the hotel or walk down into Funchal centre.
