The service, cleanliness, staff, and facilities were all exceptional. The restoration of these buildings dating back to 1526 is amazing. We had fun looking up old photos online and then finding the spots they were taken from to compare the before and after. If you enjoy driving and cars, the road from Piódão to the hotel is fantastic, with lots and lots of curves. There's also free charging for electric cars, at 11kWh.

The room fell short of basic cleanliness: there was a shower cap hanging in the bathroom and several hairs left in the shower by previous guests. Breakfast service was poor, too. I waited over 20 minutes for someone to bring coffee. When I eventually got up to fetch it myself, the waiter said he was the one who served it, after I'd been waiting there all that time. I was very disappointed with my stay at Convento do Seixo. The hotel advertises a spa and a restaurant, but the reality didn't match what was promised. The spa was extremely limited, with only a small pool and no massages or other treatments. Treatments were one of the main reasons I booked here, so we had to leave the hotel and go to Alambique instead. The restaurant was closed as well, so we had to drive into town to find somewhere to eat. For a hotel that claims to be five-star, that was unacceptable. The facilities, service, and attention to detail were all below expectations. It doesn't live up to its five-star rating. A very disappointing experience.

The hotel and the side adventure park are great, and it's well located overlooking Fundao with good access. Gold Rock Spa is a great escape, just a short drive away.

There’s so much history here, and the staff really know how to make you feel welcome. An amazing place to stay. Pedro, thank you, and bless your heart x

The former convent has been repurposed beautifully. We had clean, quiet rooms, attentive service, and an amazing spa. What an experience 🤍
