Breakfast on the terrace was a highlight: they brought it to our room and set it up for us there. My husband and I spent part of our honeymoon at this hotel and couldn’t have been happier. We booked through the Chase Sapphire Edit program, and the service was great from the moment we arrived. We had private welcome drinks in the lounge, then a hotel tour before the staff brought our luggage up and arranged it in our room. We also had a very good dinner and service at Xtian’s on our first night. The hotel and nearby area are worth the trip from the bigger cities, and we’ll definitely return next time we’re in Portugal.

The gardens, the light, and the crisp air coming through the open windows have stayed with me. Art is everywhere, and Vermelho makes quite a show of it. I’ve never felt so moved or inspired by a physical place. We were celebrating our honeymoon, and the staff made it feel magical, with welcome cocktails, a jaw-dropping room upgrade, dessert and other sweet touches on arrival, and a complimentary spa service for each of us. The beauty, charm, and attention to detail are hard to put into words. This is more than a hotel, it’s the best hospitality and stay I’ve experienced while traveling. I’ll be thinking about this place on my deathbed. Life’s too short to miss somewhere this special.

We stayed in the beautiful Matinha Suite, with our nanny in the connecting room, and the staff took care of all our needs. They resized the crib, arranged our seating and table before we arrived, and coordinated our trips even though we didn’t rent a car. The massage was excellent too. Such a beautiful hotel with stunning service.

It felt like a museum full of art and heart, with thoughtful details everywhere. The staff were kind and incredibly accommodating each time we interacted with them, before, during, and after my stay. I can’t wait to come back.
