Casa do Juncal

We were there with friends in early Oct (2021), and everything was fantastic. Daniela, the owner, gave us such a warm personal welcome. The old house has been restored beautifully on the edge of the historic district, and the staff were kind, helpful, and super friendly. Breakfast was superb. Highly recommend it.

This old house has been turned into a six-room boutique hotel, very close to the city's main sights. Breakfast was delicious and included, the amenities were high quality, and there was free parking nearby. All that for just €81. Really recommend staying here.

The little garden is a lovely place to unwind on a quiet afternoon. Inside, the decor is beautiful, the rooms are spacious, and the bed is comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful.

We found nothing to complain about. Parking was a slight hassle at first, but we ended up using the hotel's one reserved car space, so we were happy. The breakfast was excellent, with generous portions and really good ingredients. You choose the night before, and they make it fresh in the morning. There's no room service for ordering dinner from a kitchen, but I rarely use that anyway. I usually prefer a boutique B&B like this to a business hotel. Our suite on the top floor, called "K", was properly divided into a bedroom and living room with a connecting door. The rooms were bright, airy, quiet, and looked out onto the garden. The modern, stylish furnishings felt individual, with no IKEA or identical hotel furniture. The bed was wonderfully comfortable, with great materials and pillows. Mario, the owner, welcomed us warmly, explained the house's history, helped with parking, and gave us useful suggestions for dinner and a haircut. For parking, the hotel has one reserved space on the road. Look for the moveable sign on the stand. A non-customer was in the spot at first, but it opened up later and we moved our car there. Mario suggested the nearest barber, just 20m to the left, where Señor Silva is sometimes there playing the Portuguese guitar. I was waiting around ten in the morning when Sr Silva arrived, shook everyone's hand, and ended up cutting my hair. He washed it afterward, as I have always preferred, gave me a wet shave, and finished with a mini-recital!
