Guest House Lovely Swan

I had a good stay apart from a check-in snag. The room was affordable and near the tourist area. I couldn’t choose a room when booking, and after reading a bad review about the first floor, I was relieved to get the second-floor room. It was spacious and clean, with a kitchenette, a table, two sofas, and a queen bed. The WiFi was listed as an amenity but didn’t show up, so I had to search around and plug it in myself. The entry code from the booking agency didn’t work because the property manager had changed or disabled it without telling us. We had to phone him for a new one. He may do this to know when guests arrive, but it could be a real problem if you were outside in bad weather, waiting for someone to answer and give you the code. Luckily, our check-in issue was the only real drawback.

The location was good, but getting there by car was difficult and parking was a real challenge. The sofa was really dirty, the bed linen had stains, and the shower was unpleasant because the water was only lukewarm. I won’t come back.

Early check-in, somewhere to leave our luggage, and a fully equipped apartment made things easy for us. We also appreciated being able to store our bags while we went hiking. There are several apartments, so book suite #2 if you want a full kitchen. Before we booked, I sent the owner a few questions on WhatsApp and got a detailed, professional reply within minutes. He was clearly organized and genuinely committed to helping his guests. My husband and I have travelled around the world for extended periods, and his communication was the best we’ve experienced. The rest of the team were just as helpful. The property is very well maintained, and the hospitality was wonderful. Thanks again for a great stay.

Pedro, our contact, was very kind and understanding. The third-floor apartment is in a great spot and looks beautiful, though we found it a little inconvenient that it had no kitchen.
