Antonio was kind and helpful, and breakfast was great. My twin room had lovely decor, plenty of space, good amenities, and a nice bathroom. The mattress felt quite firm to me. Antonio told me the rooms used to be wine cellars on a wine farm, and they’ve kept that atmosphere. The guest house sits on a hill above Lamego, with wonderful views. There’s construction on the hill below, but it barely made any noise and didn’t spoil the view. I couldn’t use the pool because of my handicap. Finding Casa da Real Companhia was difficult since Google seemed confused about the location, but I texted and Antonio came to meet me and show me the way. Thanks for a great stay!

A quiet, welcoming place where you can sit outside and take in the magnificent views. The room was beautiful and spotless, and the host was wonderful. There’s wifi and parking on site. It’s a 10 minute walk downhill to town for great restaurants and bars, and you can take a taxi back up the hill. 😂 Highly recommend.

The view is amazing, the pool is great, and the rooms are clean and nice. The owners were lovely and quick to answer our questions before and during the stay. They also welcome dogs, which we really appreciated. Thanks for a great time :)

We paid roughly 15€ per person for wine, starters, entrees, and a wonderful dinner, the best meal experience of our stay in the Douro Valley. The local cod was good, and I especially recommend the pork cheeks. The chef greeted us with exquisite starters and several dinner and wine choices. It’s a hidden gem in the owners’ home, with a lovely view. The owner also shared suggestions, local music, and culture with us.

We nearly drove away because it was hard to find and didn’t look busy. So glad we stayed. Antonio came out to greet us, and the food was wonderful. There were stories and laughs all evening, with plenty of wine too. A real authentic Duoro Valley experience, and they treated us better than our own family would!
