Fazenda Nova Country House

Our garden suite felt private and welcoming, with plenty of space, a great bed, and a good shower. The garden paths were lovely to wander, and the whole place had a wonderfully relaxed, quiet feel. It was almost like staying in someone's charming country home. The people working there were friendly. I think it's best to stay here and drive out to the beaches or towns.

The owners were wonderful, and the staff were so kind and ready to help. When our plans changed, they were happy to work with us. Everything was peaceful, beautiful, and immaculately cared for, and breakfast was great too. The rooms are large, with big, very comfortable beds, lovely decor, and impressive bathrooms with heated floors. So much thought has gone into the details. We’ll definitely be back, thanks again.

The place wasn't very clean, and there isn't anything nearby, including anywhere to buy ice. We gave proper notice that we wanted dinner. The manager said he wouldn't be working that night but might find someone to cook, so we decided to go out. When we got back, other guests were eating there. We also had to find and buy ice ourselves. I can't recommend this place. I wondered if the treatment was anti-American, though I can't say for sure.

We spent our last night in Portugal at Fazenda Nova Country House, and honestly, I’d make the trip back just to stay there again. The food was the highlight for me. Our five-course dinner was served outdoors after we arranged it with the front desk, and every dish was superb, from the locally sourced ingredients and produce to the presentation and temperatures. The chef clearly cared about the guests’ experience. Breakfast, served the same way each morning, was just as impressive. The property sits among olive and fruit groves in the countryside, with beautiful views all around. The quiet grounds are carefully tended, and paths let you wander through the gardens and trees. We also enjoyed the small pool and cabanas, with food and drinks available poolside during the day. Staff were charming and there if we needed help. Our room was stylish and well designed, with lots of natural light and privacy. Excellent service and attention to detail throughout.
