Run by a warm, friendly family who were professional throughout, this hotel is in a great city center spot. It’s in an old building, though the inside has been tastefully modernized. Our room was spotless, with a comfortable bed, a good shower, and a large window over the side alley. A dark shade and two heavy curtains kept it nice and dark at night, and despite seeing other guests in the hall, we didn’t hear a thing overnight. Breakfast was generous and included in the room price. We paid €50 at the end of high season without booking ahead. I highly recommend staying here.

A spacious room and clean bathroom, with basic amenities included. Breakfast was a varied continental spread, and the staff were lovely and always available. The family-run hotel is also a beautiful feature of Lamego’s main avenue, with stunning architecture.

My three-year-old daughter and I stayed just before Christmas, when it was freezing outside. The attendant went out of their way to keep us warm and snug, and the service throughout was above and beyond. The rooms aren’t new, but they’re perfectly serviceable and smelled nice and clean. Breakfast was perfect. They made our stay wonderful, and we can’t wait to come back!

I was in the shower when the porter came into my room without knocking. He had no reason to come in and didn’t even apologize. I was travelling alone, and left early.

After a long bike ride through the Duoro Valley, we checked into this family-owned hotel. The service was excellent, and the room had been nicely renovated.
