The hotel manager was the coolest!

Carla gave us a warm welcome, and communication was easy. She speaks Portuguese, English, Spanish, and even Italian. When we got stuck, Google Translate helped us out. The rooms are spread across several buildings around a lovely garden, and we stayed as a couple in the first-floor "peacock" room. It had a spacious bathroom and a large shower, with bed and bath linens provided at no extra charge. The bed was unusually high, nearly a meter off the floor, like the beds my grandfather had. It was very nice, though I had to remember to take care getting up in the morning. The stairs to the upper floor always smelled fresh. Breakfast is served downstairs in a nearby building just a few steps away. Carla prepares a generous spread of sweet and savory food, and it’s best to arrange the breakfast time. There were strawberries, mango, fresh cheese, cooked ham, sliced cheese, tea, milk, coffee pods, hot scrambled eggs, freshly made local pastries, bread, and more. It was so tasty and filling that we could easily skip lunch. The old building has been tastefully renovated. Though it sits on a busy road opposite the village church, the place itself is very quiet. It’s about half an hour from Fatima, 10 minutes from Leiria, 40 minutes from Nazaré, and an hour and a half from Lisbon. Street parking is free, and there’s also a lot beside the church if you prefer. Everything was delicious and beautiful. Thank you, Carla, for your professionalism and passion for your work.

Even though we were there for just one night, the attentive care made it a really pleasant stay. The buildings and gardens around the property were lovely, and our room was very comfortable, with lots of distinctive details. Breakfast was delicious, too. The friendly service especially stood out and made us feel at home. Highly recommended.

We regretted staying just one night on our way back from holiday, because Solar Sra. da Oliveira was so stunning. The historic buildings have loads of charm, the decor is elegant, and everything was spotless and well looked after. It felt like stepping back in time, with modern comforts still there. Our room was really comfortable, with little details that caught your eye. Breakfast was delicious, and the service was attentive and genuinely friendly. The pool was a welcome bonus, though it could have been a bit bigger. We paid about €80 for two, and it was worth every cent. There’s also a nearby restaurant serving excellent home-style food at a fair price, which fitted the stay perfectly. A five-star stay, in my view, and a great fit for families or anyone who loves history and authenticity. The past and present come together naturally here. Highly recommend!
