This small B&B is nicely kept and equipped, and I had a very comfortable stay. It’s tucked away, though still not far from the town centre. If you’re coming from outside Europe, bring your own tea or coffee, sugar, and milk.

We cooked simple meals and breakfast in the apartment, picking up groceries each day at the supermarket on the main street. The place itself was lovely, with Swedish furniture, air conditioning, and a bathroom we liked. Entry was by a PIN they sent us. We had the two-bedroom apartment on the top floor, but those stairs are VERY steep and awkward with luggage, so keep that in mind. The TV felt dated and we couldn’t use Netflix or similar, so a smart TV might be a good upgrade. Ramiro Restaurant is just a minute away and well worth going to. The apartment is also within walking distance of the city centre. We came by taxi; if you’re driving, avoid stopping right outside if possible, since the street is very narrow and steep, like much of Lisboa. We stayed in September last year with my partner and sister, and I’d happily come back.

The area felt messy and not very safe to me. The apartment sits down a dingy alley, and cars parked right in front of the main door sometimes made it difficult to get inside. It’s not really a tourist area either. A decent coffee shop or restaurant is about a steep 15-minute walk away.

You can park for free in the dead-end alley, though the road slopes. It looks a bit creepy when it’s dark, but I found it quiet and safe.
