Chiado Mercy - Lisbon Best Apartments

We were there for two nights. The rooms have been renovated recently and look nice, and I liked having a coffee machine both in the room and in the lobby. It was the middle of winter, yet the hotel was so hot we turned off the heating and opened a window. The room also had an excessive number of light switches.

The rooftop was shut when I visited in January, which was a letdown. Still, the hotel was satisfying in just about every other way. It feels modern and new, the queen bed was really comfortable, and the rainfall shower had plenty of hot water. Great location too. I’d stay again next time I’m back.

9Hotel Mercy is right amid the buzz, and the location is its main draw. Breakfast was fine, though nothing special, but the rooms felt austere and dated, very 90s compared with the flattering photos. One day we asked for the room to be cleaned while we were out, then came back to bedding that hadn't been made or changed. We waited at the bar for a while after telling the staff, but it still wasn't done, so we ended up doing it ourselves. At checkout, we heard another couple had run into the same issue, and the staff didn't seem very apologetic. It feels overpriced for what you get, presumably because of the location.

We were there September 12-15, and the location worked out really well. It isn't in a loud party area, but the train station and metro are easy to reach on foot. There are lots of lovely squares and restaurants close by, though, as you'd expect in Lisbon, there are hills and stairs. Our room was a great size, the bathroom had plenty of space, and everything was spotless, even for a picky person like me. Rita and Susana were so nice and helpful with directions, suggestions, and even a first aid kit. I highly recommend the hotel.
