We found the place cramped and tense for everyone staying there, and the price was outrageous for what it offered. Cockroaches, grime, and a general sense of neglect greeted us, with a tiny, dirty, impractical kitchen and loose cables across the floor. The mattresses were moldy and dirty too. The street smelled of sardines all day. Getting up the stairs was uncomfortable and unsafe: they were steep, narrow, and had no lighting. The apartment looked nothing like the booking photos. It was a very negative experience that nearly ruined our vacation.

The landlord is friendly and really helpful. We’ve stayed here twice, in 2024 and 2026, and liked the location, with plenty of good restaurants nearby and easy access to the city and public transport. The stairs are definitely steep, but that seems normal for Lisbon and just part of the experience. :)

Such a cute little apartment in a lovely part of Lisbon. Just be ready for the steep stairs, that’s the one catch.
