Amalia Studios

We felt very welcome from the warm greeting, and Studio 2 was a nice, clean apartment with all the basics: stove, microwave, fridge with a small freezer, dishwasher, and kitchen utensils. The bathroom was spacious, the wifi pretty speedy, and the bed comfortable. The neighborhood is lively, but shutting the balcony doors blocks out the noise. There’s a small market with essentials on the same street, almost right across from the apartment. Rossio station is also very close, where the airport bus stops and trains to Sintra leave from. The hill is quite a climb with luggage.

There are plenty of little shops, restaurants and tapas bars nearby, and a church partway up the same street. Rossio train and metro station is close, as are the trams at Martim Moriz. Inside, it’s a lovely, cozy place. Getting up the steep hill with big, heavy bags was the part I hated. I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re carrying those.

Amália Studios made a welcoming base in a charismatic part of central Lisbon. The rooms felt cozy and contemporary, with the appliances we needed and some thoughtful hospitality touches. Staff communicated politely, and I appreciated the COVID hygiene measures.

A good place, though communication could be better.
