Bagetti Guest House

The bathroom situation was awful: just one bathroom, it was dirty, there was no hand soap, and plenty of other problems. Staff were absent for many hours during the day, too. One night I came back to find a young couple cuddling on my bed. My booking had been canceled at the last minute despite plenty of beds seeming to be available, and later I noticed extra charges in my bank account. With those added costs, the stay wasn't particularly cheap.

I booked through Hostelworld, paid part there, and was supposed to pay the rest on site. They insisted on cash, which made me feel they were trying to hide taxes. It took hours of negotiating to explain that I had the right to pay by card and could call an inspector if they refused. Nowhere did it say cash was the only option. The place was extremely dirty, especially the bathroom and kitchen, and the mattresses were old. Nobody spoke English. It's so disgusting that I'm looking for somewhere else now, and don't plan to sleep here.

Bedbugs were the worst part of the stay. My girlfriend and I got bitten badly on our last night, and even though we checked our things carefully, we carried them to our new home and had to call pest control. The place also wasn't clean, and a broken toilet by the kitchen left a pee smell that lingered while cooking or eating. This is the worst place I've ever stayed. I'd strongly suggest avoiding it.

The staff were friendly, which was about the only positive. We booked three nights in a private room but left after the first because the hostel was very dirty. There was no soap in the restroom and no sign of disinfectant, even though it was during a pandemic and rules were meant to be followed. The kitchen wasn't clean, and the toilet near it smelled terrible. We expected a quiet night in the private room, but the door didn't close properly and other guests were loud, so we barely slept. The next day my friend noticed bites on her body. We worried about insects and spent another 20 euros washing and cleaning all our things to make sure none were in our luggage.
