Casa Do Barão

The garden and little pool are a peaceful oasis in the middle of the city, and the common spaces feel so welcoming and homey. Madalena showed me around the beautiful facilities and had my room ready three hours before the expected check-in time. Her welcome was so warm. There were cakes, coffee, and tea available throughout the day, plus port wine in the evening, all included. The breakfast buffet was lovely, and Madalena even let me check out an hour late and stay in the comfortable common areas until my evening flight. The care and attention to detail here are rare. Casa do Barão is hands down the best hotel I’ve stayed at, and I’ll definitely be back!

For a week at the end of November, my husband and I hardly needed transport at all. Casa do Barao is perfectly placed for walking around Lisbon, yet it sits on a calm, quiet street. The staff were all so kind and went above and beyond. They made me feel at home enough that I wanted to jump in and help in the kitchen. I especially miss the afternoon cakes, tea, and port every day. The hotel’s style is beautiful, somewhere between a bed and breakfast and a posh hotel. I wanted to take those colorful glass doors home. This was easily my favorite hotel, and you must stay here. You won’t regret it.

Right in the heart of Lisbon, Casa do Barao feels like a special, homely place to stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, and there were thoughtful touches throughout our visit. My husband and I had a wonderful time and would recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere stylish but homey.

The garden room was comfortable and charming, with plenty of daylight and fresh air, and it stayed very quiet. We enjoyed breakfast and relaxing in the lush outdoor area. Freshly baked treats and complimentary port added the personal touch the Barao is known for. Over our week there, Madalena and Joanna were consistently warm, attentive, and helpful, well beyond what you’d usually expect. We felt at home, and that made our stay exceptional.
