Duque's Apartments

I’ve stayed in a lot of apartments in Portugal, and this was the most beautiful. It was great value, with an amazing view and a great location near lots of lovely viewpoints, bars, and restaurants. The apartment had everything we needed. I’ll definitely come back!

It seemed recently renovated and was nice and clean. The hosts were helpful and accommodating. There are plenty of good restaurants nearby, but the street itself is calm and quiet. Excellent location, and a great place to stay in Lisbon.

When I got to Lisbon, nobody was at the address the landlady had given me. Another guest told me I had to go quite far away to collect the key, so I went and found the lady there. I said that this wasn’t the flat’s address. She told me she’d emailed the key details, but when I asked when, it turned out she sent it after I’d arrived in Lisbon. I couldn’t get the key. I asked if this was normal, since I was spending money going back and forth. She was very rude and said she wouldn’t give me her flat. I was left without accommodation at the last minute. Never again. Rude, disorganized, no ethics!

In more than 40 years of travel, this is one of the best apartments I’ve stayed in. We got a very warm welcome, and the apartment had everything you could need. Fabulous location too. I’d book it again next time I’m in Lisbon.
