That Saturday morning checkout was the best staff interaction we had. The receptionist who helped us was kind and professional, a very different experience from arriving Wednesday afternoon. Then, we were given no real welcome or information about Lisbon or the neighborhood. The receptionist just told us our room number, how to use the elevator, the city tax, and when to check out. When we came back for suggestions, the receptionist was on the phone. I waited, but she didn't acknowledge me or ask me to hold on, just carried on talking. A few jokes from one of the bar staff also felt out of place without any familiarity with guests. The location is handy and close to everything, but the rooms are dark and you hear the street clearly even with the windows shut. Bring earplugs if you want to sleep. The shower was tiny and the toilet seat was broken. The stay was acceptable, though it needs a lot of work to live up to a four-star hotel.

Bruno and Liris were wonderful with us and our baby, and Sydney at the restaurant was so kind. Isabel eventually helped us too, and we really appreciate the compensation she arranged. The first three days were a struggle: the AC didn't work, and we had to change rooms twice with our baby. Maintenance staff didn't speak English, so explaining the problem was difficult. They'd say it wasn't working, bring a portable AC, and leave us with the same issue. After all that, plus a trip to the emergency room with our baby, Miguel offered a free dinner at Figu. We'd already paid for our own meals there, and that offer for no AC in two rooms during three of our five nights felt astonishingly unprofessional. Management needs to learn customer service. This wasn't a great first visit to Lisbon, though we are grateful to Bruno, Liris, Sydney, and Isabel for being understanding and professional.

The staff made the stay for me. They went out of their way to be lovely, and on my birthday someone wished me well and brought up a delicious slice of cake around 4 pm. The buffet breakfast was generous. We were right on a lively square, but even the passing trams didn't disturb us. The hotel is in downtown Lisboa, handy for shopping and cultural spots, and I really liked its style and atmosphere. I'd happily stay again for the people as much as the location.

The restaurant food was excellent, and we ate there both nights. The restaurant team, especially at breakfast, didn't match the welcome we got from reception and the bar staff. Breakfast was fine, though the hot items weren't very hot. The hotel itself is lovely and central, with everything walkable. We didn't take the metro, but it's nearby, as is the train station. I'd definitely recommend it.

The location is really good, and reception staff were friendly. Breakfast was the opposite, the staff never smiled. The rooms and bathroom are very small, and the rooms are dark. They explained the design as living in a tree, part of the hotel's concept, but I didn't enjoy it.
