Garden Prince Hostel

The rooms were very clean, the owner was nice, and the price was good for the quality. Getting to the metro was easy. There are three shared bathrooms. I'd have given five stars if two of the shower booths had been a little bigger.

The best thing was the location: the hostel is right opposite the metro entrance, so it's easy to get around Lisbon. There are three bathrooms for the hostel, plus a large one with a glass shower for two. The kitchen is fairly big, with tables in an enclosed balcony area that serves as a patio, but unfortunately smokers use it. We had a double room with a fairly large bed, though the room itself was tiny. It had a desk, small bedside cupboards, and no wardrobe, just an IKEA rack in the corner. The window looked onto the block, directly at the hostel bathroom, so I'd avoid opening it while someone is showering. The room was very dark. The name was confusing too. We booked "Garden prince hostel," but the place turned out to be "Royal prince hostel". The Garden was somewhere else entirely.

The building itself is ordinary, and going in, especially taking the elevator, felt a bit scary, like being in a horror film. Inside the hostel, though, everything was really lovely, cozy, and full of thoughtful details.

The suite had plumbing problems, and a bad smell filled the room. There were no windows to air it out, no TV, and no hairdryer. The staff were attentive and tried to make up for the structural issues.
