The inside is cozy, clean, nicely equipped, and quite pleasant, even though the facade and entrance could use some attention. The apartment sits in the heart of the Alfama district. The bed was very comfortable and there were a couple of heaters, but the attic sleeping area is awkward for adults and older people. You have to practically crawl to reach the bed without hitting your head. Getting there with luggage was the worst part: we had to leave the car far away and haul our suitcases up enormous hills and stairs. On the plus side, the TV had Netflix, and the man who checked us in was incredibly friendly and helpful. He spoke both Spanish and English.
