Lisboa Central Hostel

There are lots of common spaces, a great free breakfast, and a calendar of events with plenty to do. The rooms were very clean, and the staff were so nice and helpful. It’s one of the best hostels I’ve stayed in, and I’d stay again. Check the location before booking: it’s in central Lisbon, but may be a 15-20 minute walk from what you’re trying to do. That wasn’t an issue for us, just something to be aware of. A great option in Lisbon.

Back again after two years, and we still love it here. The facilities and location are great, but the staff are what make it special. They’re just a bunch of great folks who are happy to look after weary travellers. The business has kept a lovely culture going for years. We’ll be back. Thanks!

Overall, this made for a very bad experience. I got bed bugs during my stay and told the hostel, but they sent back a very generic copy-paste email. My towel was stolen too, which has never happened to me before, even after staying in more than 100 hostels across different countries. Then they cancelled my Hostelworld booking, so I couldn’t leave a review there. I don’t know what happened with that. I understand the bed bugs aren’t the hostel’s fault, and the place was otherwise very clean. I liked the free breakfast, the location near a metro station, and the nice, helpful staff. But the guests staying there were all old, and one guy touched and harassed me while I was sitting in my own bed. I would have stayed in the female-only dorm, but it was so much more expensive.

One of my favorite hostels from my February 2026 Europe trip, and my last stop. The staff were extremely nice, and the food and location were great. I’ll definitely come back when I’m in Portugal again. Obrigado!
