Lisboa Central Park Hotel Suites & Studios

The location is awesome, and the service was great. Every employee we spoke with spoke at least two languages, and some spoke Portuguese, Spanish and English. The rooms were pretty nice, and the price seemed fairly reasonable, especially in this economy. We only stayed a couple of nights on two different occasions, and both stays were pretty enjoyable. Breakfast wasn’t included. It would have cost €14 per person if we wanted to eat there. I’d go back any time.

There was a strong sewage smell in the room, which the staff acknowledged. The front desk attendant gave me a can of air freshener and said that was the best he could do. He was sympathetic, but there was no real fix. The bathroom was leaking too. When we reported it, reception gave us towels to put on the floor and said maintenance only works from 8 AM to 6 PM. We asked to change rooms, but neither option worked for our family of four. One had a broken air conditioner, and the other had only three beds. The manager didn’t respond or speak with us at any point. I know this is a budget hotel, but that doesn’t excuse poor hygiene, lack of maintenance and zero accountability. Our stay at Lisboa Central Hotel was extremely disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

The location is the only thing going for this hotel: it’s close to public transport, a wonderful park and businesses. We paid an exorbitant amount for small, trashy rooms with no breakfast included. There was trash in our room when we arrived, and water shot out in all directions from the tap. The elevator was so small it could only fit two people at a time. We stayed in many hotels and airbnb during our Portugal trip, and gave all the others 4 or 5 stars. This was the exception.

For a family, the room was spacious and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was roomy and seemed newly renovated. Breakfast had plenty of options, and the breakfast staff were so kind and pleasant to greet every morning. The location was perfect too, in a nice central area close to the city center, with two metro stations just five minutes away. The building is quite old, and the walls, doors and floors in the rooms could use renovation. It didn’t affect our stay negatively, though. It’s a good-value, low-budget hotel that’s clean and has the necessary amenities for a pleasant stay.
