Lisbon Finestay Mastro

The location and the room itself were good, but the service was very poor. We stayed for 7 days, and for two people they provided only 6 towels total and 2 small toilet rolls, so we had to buy more at the supermarket. They didn’t change the bed sheets, and there was no reception. I messaged to ask for toilet paper and got no response; they ignored that request and only sent a notice about the city tax. The one thing I enjoyed was having one of our favorite restaurants from the trip just a 30 second walk away.

It was really good value, about half what the other apartments we checked cost, and the place felt quite safe at night. We were five people, and it took about fifteen minutes to walk to Ave de Liberdade. We stayed in early July when it was 30°C. There was no air conditioning, but we were still okay. The main issue was cleaning: the surfaces and bathrooms were fine, but the fans we needed for cooling were so dusty I spent half an hour cleaning them so we wouldn’t be choked by clouds of dust. Clean the fans and I’d give it five stars.

Lisbon is a nice city, but this was the worst place I’ve stayed in Europe. The apartment was cold and had no heater; we asked for one and it arrived a day later. The sink was blocked, and even after we reported it, they couldn’t fully fix it. They knew we had a child but gave us an apartment with stairs and no safety features. We insisted on changing rooms, but they said they were full. The room doors were hard to open, and I was locked in a bathroom for about ten minutes. The entrance also wasn’t suitable for a stroller or wheelchair. Awful apartment to stay in.

We didn’t get enough towels, and asking for more brought no response. The drain was blocked too, and he didn’t try to fix it. Terrible. Stay somewhere else and enjoy Lisbon.
