The location was good, but the apartment and service were poor. I was traveling alone and arrived at 10:30 p.m. after a flight delay, only to find the host’s app required details for a second guest before it would let me check in. My repeated calls and messages went unanswered, so I was left outside with my luggage. I finally walked to a nearby hotel. They had no rooms, but the receptionist kindly helped me get around the glitch by entering my own details as the second guest. I got in at 11:30 p.m. I’d booked nearly my whole European itinerary through Expedia and was very disappointed with the help I got from them. Inside, the unit looked as if it had been abandoned for months. I found three large cockroaches, including one near the bed that I killed, and there was a strong sewage smell. Opening the unscreened windows to air it out brought in mosquitoes. When I opened the balcony door, it looked like homeless people lived in the next building, and I worried that someone could easily come into the unit. I didn’t feel safe. The water heater was remotely locked at 40°C, which wasn’t warm enough for a comfortable shower; the dishwasher was broken, and I couldn’t open the kettle lid. After I complained the next morning, they moved me to another unit in the same building, but its washer and dryer didn’t work either. I tried to put these problems aside and enjoy my limited time in Lisbon, but the lack of communication, technical failures, and hygiene were unacceptable.

It was hard to rest because the room was uncomfortable and there was a lot of noise, from traffic outside, thumping music, and the supermarket below, which stays open long hours. The room was dirty when we arrived, and they took over 24 hours to bring us toilet paper.

The room didn’t look like the website photos, and it wasn’t properly cleaned. A splatter mark by the toilet stayed on the bathroom floor for our entire visit, even though room service came in to clean almost daily. The shower was completely clogged from the start. There was also a metal floor strip sticking up, which was dangerous. One guest tripped on it, and another got a deep puncture wound and couldn’t walk comfortably for several days. When we reported it, the service department blamed us for not using the black phone downstairs to ask for help. They offered no apology or accountability and said they couldn’t give compensation. I wouldn’t recommend staying here because of the cleanliness and safety problems.

The windows in our apartment wouldn’t open for our whole five-day stay, and the hotel said they couldn’t fix them. We raised it several times; they acknowledged the issue but neither resolved it nor offered us a different room. I find it hard to believe they didn’t know before we checked in, since it seems like something that should be noticed while preparing the room. The location was absolutely perfect and the room itself was clean, but the window problem overshadowed everything. I wouldn’t return or recommend the place.

We had to pay for another hotel ourselves because they wouldn’t move us or refund us, even though I have asthma and a mold allergy. The bathroom had a serious mold problem, caused by an infiltration from the upstairs shower. The ceiling was wood, so sending a cleaner to wipe the mold wasn’t going to solve it. The apartment was nothing like the pictures and wasn’t clean enough. They made excuses and didn’t take us seriously at all. Terrible customer service. I’d call this a scam. Thanks for taking 500€. Don’t stay here.
