Hotel Montebelo Vista Alegre Lisboa Chiado

The restaurant was the best part of our stay at Montebelo Vista Alegre Lisboa Chiado Hotel. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner were excellent, and the restaurant service was outstanding throughout. The hotel is pleasant and very well located, though it doesn't quite feel like a true five-star stay to me. Small details were missing. There were no USB ports in the room, and despite the laundry service, there wasn't a pen for filling out the form. Those little things add up at a hotel presenting itself as five-star. Noise is the main concern. A room facing the square can be very loud, so I'd strongly suggest asking for one at the rear, which is much quieter. The dining is excellent, but the rest of the experience falls a little short of five-star standards.

Friendly reception staff and a nice breakfast, but the rooms are very small for the price. I'd put it closer to four-star than five-star. Overall, it's worth considering as a four-star hotel if you find a good deal through aggregators.

The staff were spot on all day, from bringing my tea in the morning to the evening bed turn-down. Special thanks to the doorman for being so hospitable. The room was very comfortable, and the location was fairly central, which let me cover a lot of ground in a day.

We found this hotel in a bit of a panic after checking into an Airbnb with no hot water at 6pm. At the front desk, Diana was incredibly helpful. She listened, sped up our check-in, showed us the room and amenities, and was very kind and considerate. The place is clean, comfortable, and really nice. The bathroom had hot water, and the room had opening doors and a little chair for relaxing. It's a five-minute walk to pink street and the waterfront, then a 10-20 minute walk to everywhere else. Even though it's right among everything, shutters over the windows block the noise. Breakfast included an arrangement, plus eggs and pancakes made for you. We'd recommend it and stay here again next time in Lisbon. No more Airbnb for me.
