The room itself wasn't terrible, but the neighborhood was the main problem for me. Booking.com called it quiet, yet it felt unsafe: people kept staring at me and my family as if we didn't belong. There's even a warning by the door saying "FORGET ME NOT" alongside pictures of glasses, phones, keys, and a wallet. The code entry seemed easy for someone to open if they wanted to. Inside, the room looked better in the photos. There was a hole in the bedroom wall covered by a white store, and the walls creaked. The stairs were very uncomfortable, especially while carrying luggage. I'm not posh, and I could have managed the room if the owner hadn't lied about the area. We couldn't stay even one night, but they still charge for the first two nights if you leave. We tried calling the owner, but got no response. Booking tried to get him to contact us, and he refused to speak Spanish, saying he would only speak English or Portuguese. This place shouldn't be listed on Booking or any vacation site.

I was here to meet my TukTuk clients from London. The location is nice, near Martim Munij park. Masque is a 3 minuit walk away, and Miradouro, an important viewpoint, is within walking distance.

The host was rude and unhelpful, and accused me of making up the bed bug problem. After many emails and evidence, Booking.com refunded me, thankfully. We were badly bitten during our stay, and the property felt unsanitary, with a serious infestation. The listing promised a balcony and washing machine, but neither was there. The bathroom was so tiny you had to climb over the toilet to get into the shower. There was also a hazardous set of steps to access the property that wasn't mentioned, a big risk for anyone with luggage or mobility issues and for families with small children. The area was awful, with overflowing street bins, drug deals, and men smoking crack pipes. The stay was a disaster from start to finish. Save your money and health, book elsewhere.

We were greeted by someone very friendly, and the apartment had all the equipment we needed. They even let us leave our luggage in lockers after checkout. The location is excellent, and I'd recommend the place and stay again. The stairs up to the apartment are quite steep, but that's common in Lisbon, so bear it in mind.
