The metro station is close by, which is a real plus. I stayed three nights and the hotel was clean and tidy. Breakfast had plenty of different options to choose from. There was some traffic noise now and then, but it didn’t bother me.

Breakfast had lots to choose from, including pancakes, fruit, eggs, and bacon. The rooms were a good size, and having a kettle and tea meant we could make hot drinks ourselves. My only real drawback was access to some rooms, where there’s no step-free route. The elevator was also very slow.

It’s a straightforward, clean hotel where everything worked, and I’d stay again. You can walk to the city centre or other interesting parts of Lisbon without much trouble. Street noise might bother some people, though I slept well. What did bother me was the lack of both a coffee maker and a kettle. I’d rate it 3.5 stars, just a little nearer four, so I chose four.

This was my second stay at EXE Liberdade. The hotel itself is still nice, but my experience with management was awful. I had an urgent situation and needed to go home early. They refused both a refund and hotel credit, saying their rules allowed no refunds within 48 hours of the stay starting. I was charged for all the nights I couldn’t use. Management showed no concern for what had happened, and I left angry and outraged. When an unexpected urgent situation forces a guest to leave early, the hotel should make an exception to this harsh policy. If you expect respect and understanding, don’t stay here.

The receptionist was great, and the small room was decent enough for a nap and a shower. I booked at the last minute after coming back from Braga because I needed somewhere closer to the airport for an early flight, and I didn’t feel secure in a hostel. It’s central, within walking distance of many Lisbon attractions, and there’s plenty nearby. But the streets stayed busy and noisy until about 1 a.m., and the hallways looked dingy. The bathroom needed a better clean, especially the shower and floors. I don’t think the rate was worth it, though last minute it was the best I could manage. For me, it would have been more reasonable at about 100 a night including taxes.
