PH Downtown Suites

Rooms were spotless, and the staff were very friendly. This isn’t a full-service hotel, and there’s no bar or restaurant. Breakfast is served in a shared kitchen that guests can use during the rest of the day too, whether they just want coffee or to cook a full meal themselves. The location is excellent, a couple of streets from the main square and restaurant area.

The breakfast is simple but tasty, and I’d get there early, around 8:30 am, to find a seat. The bathroom was clean and a good size, and the shower had great flow. Our room was spacious, the AC worked really well, and the property was well cared for and very well located. There’s no lift, but they offered to carry our luggage to and from the room. The hard-working, versatile, and efficient lady, ¿Davva or Dabba?, kept our bags when we arrived and left. There’s also a washroom near reception where you can freshen up. Excellent value for the price.

The rooms are small, but clean and have what you need. The maids were nice and cleaned well. The TV is tiny, about 6 inches wide. The toilet is so close to the sink that if you sit down, you’ll be face-first in it, and if you’re over 6 feet tall, good luck. Breakfast wasn’t good, and they make you wash your own dishes. That would have been a 4/5 for me if breakfast had been better and I hadn’t had to do the dishes on vacation.

Everything being close by made this a handy base for a city trip, and the prices seemed fair. The beds and bathroom were okay, and the staff were really friendly. They cleaned our room every day. Our balcony room was right beside the kitchen, though, so in the mornings we could hear and smell people having breakfast. I'd ask for a room farther away from it.
