Saldanha Pool & Garden

The room itself was decent and spacious, with high ceilings and a good-sized bed. We stayed as a couple in early May. Several metro lines are a short walk away, and getting to the airport was easy. There is a pool, but it's small and boxed in by buildings, so it felt like a minor extra rather than a real feature. Room 101's shower had a drainage issue, leaving water pooled around our feet the whole time. Check-in and checkout were also a downside. The host arranges a personal handover rather than self check-in, which is fine by itself, but coordinating times ahead of time across several channels felt like holiday admin. A language gap when we met made it more tense than it needed to be. If easy, low-fuss communication matters to you, I'd think twice about booking again.

The room was nice, and cafes, restaurants, and the metro are all within walking distance. What made the place special, though, was how the staff looked after us from the first day. When a nail in the room tore my shirt, the woman at reception immediately offered to take me to a seamstress. She fixed my top for free as a favor. They really went out of their way to make us comfortable :)

Our room had lots of light and a lovely view of the pool. It was exceptionally clean, with daily cleaning, and the location was perfect, near two metro stations in a safe, quiet neighborhood. The staff were polite and helpful. I'd definitely come back!

Barbara gave me outstanding, first-class service at this wonderful hotel in a really central part of Lisbon. Her informal way of doing things suited me, and speaking a mix of Portuguese and Spanish with her helped me feel at home. One of her coworkers was also very helpful, carrying my heavy suitcase down the stairs when I checked out. I can't wait to return!
