What stays with me most is how cared for we felt. The staff were discreet but there whenever we needed them, giving us room while still looking out for us. I’ve never met such friendly staff. It felt less like being guests and more like visiting family. That handwritten letter even brought a tear to my eye. Thank you to everyone at Valmore Palast. Without them, this would just be beautiful walls. The building makes you feel as though you’ve stepped into old Lisbon. There’s history in every corner, and walking the corridors made me curious to see what was around the next one. It has real soul, with respect for the old architecture alongside modern touches. The rooms are tasteful, beautiful and modern. The stairs creak gently on the way down to breakfast, like a reminder of the past. Breakfast and the garden view were amazing. Once the door closes behind you, the fast-paced world seems left outside. Things slow down in the common area, and you can relax and catch your breath.

The building is stunning, the rooms are gorgeous, the staff are very friendly, and breakfast was amazing. There’s a swimming pool in the garden and a cozy living room guests can use. I can’t think of anything I didn’t like. One of the best hotels I’ve stayed in.
I strongly advise against staying here. Sleeping was impossible: the soundproofing is awful, and it felt like we were outside. The old wooden windows did nothing to keep out the street noise all night. Construction next door was going on constantly, with no warning beforehand, so there was nonstop noise in the daytime too and no chance to rest. The room was disappointing as well, with a strong sewage smell and stained, poorly maintained carpets. When we asked for a refund so we could leave, management refused. They spoke to us in an unprofessional, overly familiar way and acted as if cleaning the room for €200 somehow made the situation acceptable. They even suggested we wear earplugs. They did bring a bottle of wine to apologize, so they know there’s a problem, but they aren’t willing to sort it out properly. A very negative experience. Avoid this place if you value comfort and sleep.
We found the location convenient, especially since it’s close to the airport, even if it might be a downside for some. The house itself felt like stepping back in time, and all the details, from the books and lamps to the staircase and chandelier, seemed to tell a story. We were really impressed. Service was perfect, and breakfast was rich and delicious.
Valmor made Lisbon feel like home. The staff were so warm and welcoming, always going out of their way to help. The rooms are spacious and thoughtfully furnished while keeping the palace’s historic character, and breakfast is included and really good. It’s a short Bolt or Uber ride to the city center. I can’t recommend staying here enough.
