Stay Inn Lisbon Hostel

I loved the hostel’s design, and the staff were so friendly they made us feel at home. It’s in Bairro Alto, right in Lisbon’s nightlife area, but our room stayed quiet. The spot is central, so getting around on foot was easy.

They were angels to us. We’re pilgrims, and they helped us find a Basilica for our pilgrims credentials, along with useful places to eat like Time Out Market. When they were full the next night, they even helped us find another place. We arrived on short notice and, while we made our jet-lagged way from the airport, they held the room without asking for a credit card. They let us put our bicycles together in the entryway, dealt with the boxes, and stored the bikes safely. The small room was lovely and very clean. If you help a pilgrim, you’re an angel, and they certainly were.

I spent two days in a single room and another three in a dorm. I got there really early in the morning, but an early check-in was no problem. They kept my things in a locked room and even let me have some of the free breakfast. Guests can use the kitchen too, which is a good way to save money and meet other travelers. The living room had a lovely atmosphere, and I felt at home. I especially liked having reception beside it. Fredercio was so kind when I had to wait around for my late flight. He helped whenever I needed it and made me feel welcome. The hostel is in a great location, and the staff are so friendly, especially Frederico. I’d definitely recommend it.

We chose this place mainly because private bathrooms are unusual for accommodations in that part of Lisbon. Every room has its own toilet, sink, and shower, and the place was even better than we expected. Our room was large and clean, and the staff were lovely and helpful. The shared kitchen had everything we needed: a fridge, tables and a dining area, a hob, an oven, a dishwasher, and a toaster. Reception is open 24 hours, and they’ll store your luggage for free if you’re staying there. I’d come back.
