We loved Lisbon itself. It was the most beautiful city we’d visited, and the streets felt very safe. Our stay at Rua do Crucifixo 6, in apartments 5K and 3K, was a very different experience. Our group of eight, four adults, a two-year-old, and three grandparents over 65, was there from April 23 to 27, 2024. On Friday the 26th, while we were out, money from our trip was stolen from different rooms. There were no signs of forced entry. We always checked the door twice, though there was no active way to secure it beyond closing the security door. What upset me most was host An She’s response. First, she said it had nothing to do with her and told us to call the police. After refusing to give basic information, she said she could say what happened wasn’t true, then said she wouldn’t discuss it further. She repeatedly mentioned cameras in the building, though I couldn’t access them. Building workers told us the camera at the entrance was a toy camera. To make things worse, I received a negative review on airbnb, even though I’d booked one apartment that way and the other privately, as if I’d done something wrong. I have photos showing how I left the apartment and the airbnb conversation.
