The Haus - Santa Barbara I

We loved our stay. The room was great, clean and nicely laid out, and the metro is within walking distance. We needed help with a request and sent a message electronically. They answered quickly and took care of it, which I was grateful for. The only part I didn’t like was the no human contact check-in. Everything is done electronically now, but we were traveling with another couple who only use their phones for photos. You need a phone with WiFi to open the room door. It could be difficult for people who aren’t very tech-savvy or don’t have electronic access. We were lucky to run into Ingrid, the cleaning lady, who helped us open the door. I probably would have worked it out, but it might have taken longer.

I’d definitely recommend this place. The service is impeccable, thank you.

Really good place, and it was clean.

The apartment smelled persistently of damp and mold, even though we opened the windows every day to air it out. One bedroom’s air conditioning didn’t work at all, so sleeping was uncomfortable. We chose this place because it advertised an elevator and housekeeping. Neither was provided. There was no housekeeping during our four-night stay, despite it being promised: nobody cleaned, changed towels, replenished toilet paper or other essentials, or even took out the trash. The elevator was already out of order when we arrived, with no advance notice. The apartment was on the third floor, and our group of five included someone with mobility difficulties who struggled with the stairs. The whole experience was inconvenient and frustrating, and based on it I wouldn’t recommend this place.
