Five days after I checked out of this Airbnb, I was charged for a full set of towels, even though another guest had checked in the same day I left. As a woman traveling alone, I felt frustrated and taken advantage of. The unexpected charge was a major hassle, and the stay wasn’t the relaxed, stress-free experience I’d hoped for. I can’t say whether it was deliberate, but it left me with a very bad impression of the place and hosts. I’d urge other travelers to be cautious.
There’s no air conditioning, and the flat gets very warm in the afternoon, especially the upstairs bedroom. Otherwise, it has what you need: a dishwasher, cooker, washing machine, coffee machine, and toaster. There’s also a small balcony for breakfast outside. It’s a one-bedroom place on the third floor of an old, small house in the heart of Alfama, Lisbon’s oldest district. There’s no elevator, so expect a climb up narrow stairs.
Awful, just awful. If you want to enjoy your time in Lisbon, don’t come here.
