The Hygge Lisbon Suites - Estrela

The neighborhood was quiet, the location was really good, and the staff were very nice. My room could use a bit of work, but I still had a good overall stay.

We've come back for a second stay because we love this little hotel. The rooms are spacious and have aircon, and the staff are all exceptionally friendly. There's a lovely balcony off the breakfast room overlooking the garden. The value for money is hard to beat.

The room was clean and had a small balcony, but the bathroom wasn't great and the shower overflowed easily. The doors were really thin, so you could hear everything in the hallway. It's on the third floor of an old building, a little away from the town centre, but there's a lovely park nearby. An art fair was on there while we visited, which was nice. It feels more like a hostel to me. There's something like a front desk, and most communication happens over Whatsapp. If, like me, your eSIM isn't working, that doesn't feel very reassuring. In reply to the owner: private-room hostels do exist. I stayed in one in London. But you're right, there's no point carrying on the discussion.

The park across the street was a highlight for me, and the guesthouse is in a great spot for seeing Lisbon. I had everything I needed in a lovely room that looked out from its balcony onto an enclosed garden with fruit trees. The service was excellent, and the breakfast was made to order. I'll stay here again.
