The room and bathroom were clean, though the room is tiny, with no wardrobe, and we only had bath towels, not hand or face towels. There was no fridge in the room or kitchen area either, which would be a real problem in summer. Breakfast is very basic, just bread, butter, cheese, ham, coffee with milk, and a little fruit like grapes and kiwi. It’ll do before an early start, but don’t expect a full meal. The stairs are much worse than the mention of no elevator suggests. They’re steep and narrow, with high steps and low railings, and carrying luggage up to the third floor was nerve wracking. If you have mobility concerns or heavy bags, think twice. The location may also surprise you: it’s near the Indian quarter, with strong smells and noise. Some people may like the atmosphere, while others could find it overwhelming. The staff didn’t speak any English, even basic greetings, and the interactions felt neutral, without much warmth or smiles. It’s manageable for a short stay if you go in with realistic expectations, but comfort is limited to the basics.

I don’t get the bad reviews. You pay so little, and everything was really good. It wasn’t noisy or far from good places, and it was clean. I loved it, and we’ll come back. Greetings :)

The rooms were amazing, with plenty of space, lovely decor, and a very high standard of cleanliness. There are convenient transport options nearby and lots of restaurants, especially for Asian food. The hotel itself was quite good, though the street is very steep and there’s no elevator.

No star for no service! The host or customer service staff said in the Airbnb app that they could arrange help carrying my luggage to the third floor. There’s no elevator, and I’d travelled all the way from Australia with a large suitcase. Everything seemed fine until I arrived and was told they couldn’t help because it was a self check-in property. It was nasty to say yes at first and then refuse when I got there, since I could have cancelled earlier. Being told that what I’d asked for was a hotel service was ridiculous too. Don’t offer something you can’t provide just to get people to pay and arrive. I had to take only my essentials upstairs and leave the suitcase downstairs, as I told the staff. They then moved it into a locked room without telling me, and I had to yell at them to get it back at checkout. The staff were only in the back for a few bloody breakfast breads, and told me to call somewhere for help. If you’re fine with cockroaches on the side table but don’t expect basic service, this place can offer that. Otherwise, stay away at all costs. They asked me for a photo of the cockroach, or said I should have asked for help when I saw it. Next time I’ll ask the cockroach to stop so I can take a picture!

THIS PLACE IS PERMANENTLY CLOSED! We arrived and found the property shut when we went to ask about leaving our luggage. Luckily, we discovered early that morning that it was no longer operating. We’d already tried to contact them several times and got no response, just as other people below have said. Booking.com confirmed the closure when we got in touch, and they’re helping us find somewhere else to stay. I don’t know why there’s a recent five-star review. Maybe someone stayed months ago, or maybe it’s fake. Don’t book here. If you already have a reservation, contact Booking.com as soon as possible.
