The Verse

The service was so friendly and attentive, and Fabio, the barman, made delicious, original cocktails while somehow staying ahead of our orders. They’ve got good taste in music, too. We loved the location, which really gives you a feel for the city. Our room was spacious, with high ceilings and all the things you need. We didn’t bring kids, but it seemed set up for families, with a kitchenette and seating area. There was a steamer in the wardrobe instead of an iron, which felt like a nice touch.

We’ll definitely be back. The hotel was quiet and clean, and the rooms each have a distinctive, beautiful design. The kitchen was equipped down to the smallest detail. It’s in a great spot, surrounded by designer boutiques and little restaurants. There’s a supermarket right downstairs and a tram stop just below the hotel. The shopping centre is about a 15-minute walk away, and the seaside promenade takes around 10 minutes on foot. The staff were lovely and attentive, keeping in touch before and after our stay to make sure everything went to plan. The service felt personal and caring.

The Verse has a calm, quietly luxurious feel in a lovely neighborhood, within reach of the main streets and sights. João, Luis and the rest of the thoughtful staff gave us great suggestions for dinner, Fado, and places to see on our Algarve trip. Oh!Sweet is delightful for breakfast, and the food is delicious. We’ll choose The Verse when we return to Lisbon.

Pedro and Luis were wonderful hosts, nothing seemed to be a problem. The team is exceptional, and this centrally located boutique hotel is beautifully furnished with a homely feel. It’s a welcoming place to stay in Lisbon, with many of the city’s great attractions within walking distance.
