Tings Lisbon

The garden is a cozy little oasis, and inside there’s a fireplace in the restaurant. We loved the artwork around the place, the pleasant staff and the lovely atmosphere. We had a delicious set menu with lots of variety for 25 euros. What a fabulous experience. Definitely worth dropping in for breakfast, lunch or dinner, or staying the night. Congratulations!

I only know the food and atmosphere since I didn’t stay at the hotel, but breakfast here was a real pleasure. The courtyard feels like a quiet secret garden, away from the bustle of the Senhora do Monte viewpoint right next door. It’s also a lovely spot for an afternoon coffee. The pancakes were divine, more like a crepe or the German “Pfannkuchen” equivalent. The hosts were welcoming, too. I’ll be back another time or two, and I’d like to try dinner as well.

We loved seeing the resident kitties, and the neighborhood felt locally authentic and less touristy, with new hip restaurants and cafes around. The location’s excellent: one block from the trolley into the touristy area, and one block up the hill from one of the best views of the Lisbon. My daughter and I stayed a few weeks ago, and all the staff were sweet, friendly and accommodating. They made us feel at home. The place is creatively decorated, very clean and homey, with an amazing breakfast that filled us up before long days exploring the city. The little interior garden was lovely, too. Our room, “Lemon Tree,” faced the inner garden courtyard, so it was extra quiet. It was air-conditioned as well, just what we needed after long, hot walks.

Graça is a fun neighborhood with plenty of variety, and we had a friendly, immaculate stay in a really well-managed guesthouse. The staircases make for good workouts, too.
