Staff were what made this hotel stand out. Francisco handled our arrival, check-in and luggage smoothly. Inês gave us a warm introduction and showed us around, António pointed me to some of the best Portuguese sparkling wine I had on this trip, Carlos made delicious nightcaps, and Alexandra made breakfast a pleasure each morning. Enjoy your well-deserved vacation! The hotel is a beautifully renovated 19th-century mansion with just 19 rooms, and from the start the attentive team managed to anticipate what we needed while still taking time to chat. The views over Lisbon and the Tagus River stretch all around, from one of the city's highest viewpoints. The rooftop bar and pool are gorgeous, though the weather wasn't quite right for a swim. There are also three restaurants offering breakfast and dinner. Our room was gorgeous, opening onto the square. We loved letting in the cool Portuguese breeze through the windows. The renovation feels elegant and refined, but a bit more of the original historic character could have been kept. Out of the three hotels we stayed in, Verride Palácio Santa Catarina was easily the best, a real luxury boutique experience on a level with the Ritz-Carlton. All in all, a standout stay and a must if you're visiting Lisbon.

The location and views were great, and the spa was decent too. Staff were lovely, the slippers were soft, and having a mobile phone provided was a first for me at a hotel. Even the Uber could come in with our luggage because they gave us the access code. My only disappointment was paying extra for a river view and ending up in a room without the advertised big balcony. They told us that room was occupied. I would have liked to know beforehand so I could choose a different booking.

We loved looking out from the 7th floor over the river and surrounding area, especially in the evenings. The room was so comfortable, and the bed made it hard to get up each day. Breakfast was a huge, delicious spread, with fluffy eggs and some of the best coffee I’ve had. We were out every day, so didn’t get to try either of the two restaurants. The hotel’s design details were lovely, but it was the staff who made the stay: everyone knew our names, room number, and even our daily preferences. This may be our favorite hotel so far.

The lounge chocolate cookies were the surprise hit for me. As a French pastry chef, I was seriously impressed. The staff were super friendly, the views were lovely, and I’d definitely come back.

What made the stay special was the team. Everyone was kind and worked so hard. The breakfast was tasty, and the staff there were thoughtful too. The property itself is wonderful, with a historic building that’s one of a kind and fun to explore. The neighborhood is charming, especially the viewpoint next door. Thanks for a great visit, and I hope to return.
