The host was very understanding, though we only received a partial refund when we left early. The rooms and Airbnb itself were good, but as two women traveling alone, we felt unsafe in and around this location and moved somewhere else. The entrance opened right onto the street, and we encountered a man nearby who seemed to have bad intentions. We panicked, packed, and left because our safety mattered more. If you’re with a man or a larger group, or you’re comfortable in less frequented areas, you may be fine here.

Iris and Nívea were kind, attentive, and always ready to help, and their service really made the stay special. The place itself was peaceful, spotless, comfortable, and very well located. Everything was excellent. I’ve seen comments calling the area unsafe, but that seems to reflect the commenters’ limited perspective more than the accommodation. I travel often in many countries and cities, and safety and hospitality can depend on how open-minded and respectful we are toward others. Some people mistake diversity for danger, which can come from prejudice or subtle xenophobia. This stay is a good reminder of how much kindness and humanity matter.

The only slight hesitation was the neighborhood late at night. We had no actual problems and felt safe enough, but the area was quiet and a little less comfortable after dark, so guests may want to think about nighttime transport. It wouldn’t keep us from coming back. My spouse and I stayed here in December and were impressed from check-in onward. The room was excellent, with everything needed for a comfortable, relaxing visit, and the arrival process was easy and welcoming. For my wife’s birthday, the hotel left a handwritten note and a complimentary bottle of wine. That personal touch made the stay memorable. We highly recommend it for the staff, smooth service, and comfortable rooms.

Vila Rodrigues is a beautiful place, and the thoughtful hosts made everything easy for us. The apartments sit on a quieter street away from the usual paths.
