Vila Santa Marinha

From the roof terrace there's a lovely view of the river. The units are also ideally placed for visiting most of Lisbon's historic sights, and I was impressed by how professional the service was and how clean everything was.

July 2025. The apartment was nice for a few days in Lisbon, and Alfama is well connected. The check-in directions were clear, but there was no communication with the host once we were there. We reported that the television didn't work and got neither a reply nor a fix. One window was stuck shut, and there was also a shower problem. They simply don't respond or sort things out. If you're paying for an apartment with a TV, it ought to work.

We really enjoyed our stay in room 5 on the top floor. It was quiet, clean, and had a lovely little balcony. The apartment's charming decor and position in Alfama made it easy to get around, since everything was close by. We also appreciated the bottle of red wine left for us. The rooftop balcony is tiny but the view is magnificent. A couple of small things could have made the stay better: the refrigerator wasn't working, and a microwave and laundry detergent would have been useful. Thanks very much.

The apartment has a lot going for it, including a good location for a city break, but it could use proper upkeep. Our balcony chairs were broken, so we couldn't use the balcony. The promised wine and water, a garbage bag, fresh towels, and mid-stay cleaning were all missing. Getting in touch with the landlords was somewhat difficult too. There was construction right next door, audible even with the windows and shutters closed. Sound carries badly in the building, and the electronic entrance lock was so loud it woke us at night. We were on the second floor. With some care and maintenance, this lovely place could shine again.
