VIP Executive Eden Aparthotel

It was a very enjoyable stay and a handy base for exploring Lisbon, with just about everything you’d want to see within a 10-minute walk. The building is a little old, but the rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and happy to help. Breakfast was excellent, with a full buffet and plenty of choice. The pool wasn’t heated and felt chilly in October, though it was still nice to have it available.

The breakfast buffet was plentiful and tasty, and the hotel is right downtown, close to plenty of restaurants and shops. Our first room was fine, but its location meant a lot of noise overnight and early in the morning. We told the staff, and they promptly moved us to a much better located room with a great view.

We arrived to find the hotel closed because there was no water or power. They moved us to their sister hotel about 3ish KM away, outside the city center. That cost us time and money getting to places we otherwise could have walked to. There was no compensation beyond the move, and we never found out whether booking the other hotel originally would have cost less or more. The staff at Eden had to handle all the complaints, with no sign of management. I felt bad for them. They asked if we wanted to return to Eden after the problem was fixed, but we declined since there was no way to know if it would happen again. Avoid this hotel if you want some certainty in your travels.

The hotel and rooms were nice, but the location was really, really good. We could walk everywhere and never needed Uber or the Metro. The room was a bit too warm, though apparently that’s normal in winter.
