White House Lisbon Hostel

The staff did step in when I reported people talking loudly after quiet hours, and they did their best. But guests kept talking upstairs an hour after quiet time, leaving phone notifications on all night in the dorm, and shining light into the room from upstairs. That kind of behavior is awful when you're sharing a sleeping space, and the people here were loud in general. There are flies everywhere, the bathrooms feel small and muggy, and the lockers are too narrow for standard luggage. The hangout area is cramped beside reception, and luggage is left out in the open rather than in secure storage. With all the warnings to bring your own lock, leaving things there didn't feel reassuring. I wouldn't recommend staying here. One star is because I didn't want to sleep outside before a 30-hour flight, and the other is for the staff trying their best. Saving a few dollars wasn't worth this decision.

The bus stop is an easy walk away, and everything was very clean. The staff were incredibly friendly and even upgraded us for free from the double room we booked to a really cozy room with a balcony. Thanks so much.

I could smell mold from the room or mattress, and woke up exhausted and unrested. The mattress was too soft for me as well, so my back hurt in the morning.

Even after I told management, some guests kept talking loudly and smoking until midnight. The staff couldn't resolve it, so getting proper rest was impossible. The room also had more beds than the listing said, and the mattresses sagged badly enough to leave me with back pain after one night. My sheets hadn't been changed and had hair all over them. I don't expect much from a hostel, but this wasn't comfortable or well managed.
