The staff were fantastic, and it was an easy walk to the ocean, shops, and restaurants. We stayed just one night and found the small hotel clean, cozy, and convenient, close to both the centre and the port. It’s on a side street off a busy road, and there’s no lift, so that may not work for everyone. For a simple, affordable base for exploring, though, I’d recommend it.
The room was small but had everything, and the bathroom was spotless. The best part was the wonderful hospitality from a very friendly Nepalese guy. It’s central, but I only gave four stars because the nearby square, Martim Moniz, is awful. I’d be nervous walking there late at night.
Being near Rossio Station made it easy to take a quick train to Sintra, get around Lisbon’s main sights, and reach buses and the metro. The service was great before and during our stay, including help with planning. They lent us umbrellas when it rained and checked if we needed anything. There are two floors of stairs to climb, but the beds are comfortable and there’s a small, handy kitchenette. I’d definitely recommend contacting Huai to book at Martim Moniz Guesthouse.
Set in a beautiful old building in the heart of Lisbon, the room was lovely, with a balcony and ventilator. The location is very central, the staff are friendly, and the bathrooms are clean.
