Casa do Ribeirinho by Atlantic Holiday

The staff were kind, and Mrs. Claudia at reception was lovely. We had comfortable rooms, a good breakfast, and the hotel is close to the airport.

We arrived late, and we really appreciated that they let us check in and sent detailed instructions. The hotel is well located, about a five-minute drive from the airport, but I had mixed feelings about the stay. The rooms were very hot with no air conditioning, and the cleanliness disappointed me. The white walls were stained and dirty, and the bathroom smelled terrible. The bed was uncomfortable and creaked with every movement, like it might fall apart. The housekeepers were also hard to understand. Before 9 in the morning they were already talking loudly and making a lot of noise. I know the sound insulation is poor, but that still felt disrespectful to guests’ comfort.

Paula was wonderful, professional and kind, and ready to deal with any issues. The hotel is well located, with supermarkets, a bus stop and the beach easy to reach. We also had a lovely ocean view. My partner enjoyed the breakfasts so much that she deliberately got up each morning to make the most of the free breakfast included with our stay. The room was fine, with a large bed and a good bathroom, though we never quite figured out the awkward showerhead. The faucet wasn’t secured properly either, so washing our hands took ages. Cleaning was the main problem. The information said it would happen until 17h, and the bed was made and towels changed now and then, but the floor was never cleaned. Still, it was a good hotel for our week away.

It was good value for the price, with friendly staff and a varied, tasty breakfast. The hotel was clean and really well located, with a sandy beach, several restaurants and some nice hikes all within easy reach.
