The garden was my favorite spot, especially when the weather was warm, and it was easy to get around Mirandela on foot. Continente is about a five-minute walk away, and the town center takes roughly fifteen minutes. I stayed for almost exactly three months during my Erasmus exchange in Portugal. The house is older, but it’s kept in good shape. My room had a wardrobe, a roomy bed, a sideboard, and a desk, which was plenty for me. The furniture was a little old too, though still in good condition. The air conditioning worked reliably and warmed the room quickly, which I appreciated on colder days in January and February. There are two modern bathrooms, one upstairs and one on the ground floor. The kitchen has everything needed to cook, with lots of space in the fridge and cupboards for several days’ food. The house was cleaned regularly, and the bed linen and towels were changed regularly too, or as soon as possible when needed. Madalena, the lovely landlady, deserves a big thank you. When a few issues came up, we sorted them out together quickly. I can definitely recommend staying here.

The house has a relaxed, welcoming feel, and I felt very at ease there, surrounded by a sense of peace. Madalena Maia, the host, is very attentive. Since she’s from Mirandela, she’s the perfect person to share local tips. Her painting and writing also add to the cultural richness of the stay.

The place was just as it looked in the photos: clean, welcoming, and thoughtfully set up for a comfortable stay. It’s also in a great spot, with easy access to transport, restaurants, and places of interest. From booking through check-out, everything went smoothly. The hosts were quick and clear in their communication, and very friendly. I’d recommend it and would stay here again on another visit.

The scenery was beautiful, and the accommodation had really good conditions. I loved how I was welcomed and looked after. It felt like being with family. It was a magical stay for me, and a special thank you to the lovely Madalena Maia, always smiling and so contagious with her cheerfulness!
