Stay Hotel Porto Aeroporto

There’s not much around the hotel besides the airport and a few scattered restaurants, so it’s best for a night or two. It’s clean and quiet, and the walk to the airport took about 10-15 minutes. My room had the usual amenities and a little balcony for fresh air. I couldn’t get the TV to work, but the WiFi was fine. Breakfast was continental and nothing special for the price, though it cost less than breakfast at the airport.

The room was spacious and very clean, with a small free bottle of water, tea, and a heater waiting for me. The lobby is open and minimalist. Reception staff were super friendly and helpful both when I arrived and when I checked back in. The breakfast buffet was nice, with big windows facing the car rental place across the street. I may come back, but the room layout had some oddities. The floor numbering was confusing enough to send tired guests around in circles, and in the double room the bathroom was behind glass with no door between it and the bed. So you can see your spouse on the toilet, and the aftermath too. Maintenance could be better. The WiFi barely had one bar in my room and kept dropping every 5-10 minutes, so I had to reconnect. Very Y2K.

When I’m in Oporto, this is the hotel I like to stay at. The rooms and mattresses are good quality for the price, and the location makes it easy to get around.

We came as a group of 18 and walked to the hotel from the airport, which is very close. The rooms aren’t large, but they were clean and big enough for us, and the staff were friendly. We skipped breakfast because there weren’t many choices. What bothered us most was the glass doors and walls around the toilet and bathroom, so you can see someone while they’re using the toilet. The towels also smelled really bad, maybe because of the humidity. They should get a drying machine, or replace the one they have 🙂
