The staff were really friendly and caring, and the coffee service was excellent. Breakfast was delicious. I used the spa and loved it, though I wish the heated pool had been a little warmer.

The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, and the rooms were nice. If you’re visiting Óbidos, I’d highly recommend spending the night here.

The beds need new mattresses. Springs poked us through the night. Breakfast was fabulous, and the hotel has a distinctive style of decor. It’s in a perfect spot just outside the walled city.

The staff were exceptionally kind and professional, and the location is great, just outside the castle wall. It was easy to find, with an underground parking garage. Our room was spacious, especially the bathroom, and the bed was comfortable with lovely linens. The grounds and pool terrace were lovely too. Breakfast was a generous buffet with hot eggs, bacon, and crepes. On our first evening, we were given a complimentary drink in the cosy seating area off the lobby.

6/10
The beds were incredibly uncomfortable, really, really hard. Still, the hotel is in a great location just outside the city walls, with beautiful common rooms, a great breakfast, and wine or port offered every evening. I booked through booking.com using the “free parking” filter because I know parking can be difficult in small towns. There’s very little street parking, and you might find a spot somewhere nearby if you’re lucky.
