Miguel made us feel at ease right away. He was warm and attentive, answered every question, and helped with every request. Thanks to him, the stay was unforgettable. It's a lovely family-run bed and breakfast in the heart of Ovar. You can see the owners' care in the thoughtful design and welcoming feel. The place has real charm, and we can't wait to come back.
The location and price are very appealing, but the place felt odd. We never saw anyone at reception, and communication from the administration was limited. Some design choices were strange, like a bare lamp without a shade and only a large fixed shower head in the bathroom. Breakfast also wasn't served on time, which was a disappointing experience.
The location is nice, with a yoga place close by, and the price for a private room as a solo traveler is attractive. Those are the only real benefits for me. It wasn't welcoming, and the staff didn't seem interested in helping or even explaining where the poor breakfast was served. I wouldn't really call it breakfast. The place felt like amateurs had tried to build something fancy, and a lot was left to be desired. Nobody was in the lobby when I asked for a recommendation. They just said to check Google. Thanks for nothing.
We spent two nights in room Floresta. The owner was quick to respond when we ran out of toilet paper, and the air conditioning worked. The location is wonderful, but I wouldn't stay again. The bed was so hard it was difficult to get comfortable. Water pooled in the shower because of its design, though the plumbing itself was fine. The walls were very thin, and the construction felt unfinished. The towel rack came off the wall, the soap dispenser was empty, and the hand towels were wet when we unrolled them.
A good old friend in Ovar recommended and gifted us a stay at the Feel at Home Guest House in October 2023. We had a fantastic time. It felt like being welcomed into a beautiful art museum by friends, with an eclectic, artsy style that was also super comfortable and relaxing. The architecture and decor were lovely, the service was top notch, and breakfast was delicious. The beds must be new because they were perfect. Just being there felt inspiring. Highly recommended, and we'd happily stay with them again! ❤️🙏
