The location is beautiful and the staff are kind, so it might work well on dry summer days. But out of season, you could end up in a dark, cold room with an unappealing view. Ours looked onto a parking area, a large technical barrel, and storage through the panoramic window. The room and bathroom were far too cold, and the atmosphere didn’t match what I expected from the photos. I was surprised because many of my friends really enjoyed the place, but I left within a few hours instead of staying overnight as planned. You don’t find out what will be cooked for dinner, so if there are foods you dislike or don’t feel like eating, you risk being served them. I explained why I was leaving, but wasn’t offered any percentage of a refund or invited to come back in warmer weather.

I loved every minute here. The vegan food was delicious, and I really liked the sustainable practices they follow!

We paid for three days at a hotel where the bathroom sink couldn’t be used because its drain was blocked. When I asked for it to be fixed, the staff implied I had clogged it myself and did nothing. The staff had a poor attitude and acted like they were doing us a favor. Dinner and breakfast weren’t much to speak of either. One night they served rice with quinoa on the side and charged 18 euros per person. The room I had specifically reserved after a long conversation with Biovilla staff was given to someone else, and the room left for us wasn’t ready even at 6:00pm. When I asked what we should do, since we couldn’t use that room, a staff member suggested we sit outside and watch the sunset. We only got the keys at 9pm. There was no compensation or proper apology. I’ve traveled countless times, and Biovilla gave us some of the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. I booked through Booking.com and asked their customer service for help getting some compensation or an apology. After the Booking.com representative tried to contact Biovilla for 10 days without a reply, they gave up and compensated me through Booking.com. I can’t recommend Biovilla hotel. If you want to enjoy Arrábida Park, choose somewhere else with professional hospitality.

We had a great time and met some wonderful people who became great friends. You can get very close to nature here, in every sense. I’d recommend a night walk, especially when there’s no moon, because the sky is full of stars. The setup is basic, so keep looking if you want luxury.
